WINDOW OF HOPE

We will be offering a day of free acupuncture sessions on Saturday, March 16th to support the mental well-being of people with cancer & their loved ones.

We hope these sessions can provide a small piece of care during what can be a deeply difficult time.

If you are currently a person with cancer or you are currently dealing with a loved one’s diagnosis, you are eligible to receive a free session.

About the sessions

Treatments will be focused on relaxation and stress relief. Acupuncture has a soothing and calming effect on both mind and body.

It can help the physical body gently transition out of fight or flight mode, down regulate stress hormones and facilitate the release of calming neurochemicals.

In addition to supporting mind and body, acupuncture tends to the Shen or spirit. It can reconnect us back to our center and support the heart in weathering whatever storm life blows our way.

These sessions differ from our standard acupuncture treatments in that they do not include a comprehensive intake, health history and consultation.

They are not intended to address specific health concerns, rather they are meant for general relaxation. For those looking to address specific health concerns, we recommend booking a standard acupuncture appointment.

These sessions are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure cancer.

Logistics

  1. Click here to reserve a session.

  2. Please complete our consent and brief intake forms in advance. The forms will be emailed to you when you book your appointment.

  3. Have a small meal. Acupuncture is best received when you’ve eaten within the last hour or so prior to treatment. We recommend having a light snack prior to treatment and arriving hydrated.

  4. Wear loose clothing. The most commonly used acupuncture points are located from your knees and elbows down. Wearing loose-fitting clothing makes these areas easily accessible and keeps you comfortable as you rest during your treatment.

  5. After arriving, we'll have a few minutes to chat and begin treatment shortly after. This will allow maximum treatment time and relaxation.

Call to Retreat: An Afternoon of Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture

Join John Berlinksy and Erin Stewart for a special afternoon of restorative yoga followed by savasana with acupuncture for deep relaxation and restoration.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring is the season of expansion and growth. The body’s Qi is rising and expanding at this time and can be harnessed to help us achieve positive change in our lives. The Liver and Gallbladder meridians come alive during Spring. They govern harmonious movement of our Qi and help us put our dreams and aspirations in motion. Activating these meridians can help release stress and stored tension, clear blockages, increase energy levels and give us greater clarity around pivotal decisions. We will spend time moving through restorative postures (45 minutes) followed by an extended savasana (45 minutes) with acupuncture points that have been selected to rebalance and stimulate the body’s vital energy.

CALL TO RETREAT: AN EVENING OF RESTORATIVE YOGA AND ACUPUNCTURE

Saturday, December 2, 2023

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Metta Yoga San Rafael

835 4th Street, Suite B San Rafael, CA 94901

Join John Berlinksy and Erin Stewart for a special evening of restorative yoga followed by Savasana with acupuncture for deep relaxation and restoration.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Winter is the season of profound rejuvenation. The body’s Qi or vital energy runs deepest at this time and, if given the opportunity, it can bring deep renewal to areas of the mind and body in need of support. The Kidney and Bladder meridians come alive during Winter. They are responsible for firmly rooting our Qi, calming the Mind and replenishing the body’s vital energy.

Balancing these meridians can help gently release feelings of anxiety, unease and fear, promote restful sleep, and impart a deep sense of nourishment and peace.

You will spend time moving through restorative postures followed by an extended savasana with acupuncture points that activate the parasympathetic nervous system and replenish the body’s reserves.
