Have PPO Insurance? You May Get Reimbursed for Acupuncture
You may be wondering if we accept insurance. While we don’t accept insurance at Alamere Acupuncture, if you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
How to find out if your PPO plan covers acupuncture
A quick call to your insurance company can give you a clear picture of what’s covered. We recommend asking if your plan covers out-of-network acupuncture services and if the answer is yes, inquire what (if any) diagnostic restrictions apply to your plan (some plans only cover acupuncture for certain ailments, while other plans cover all ailments).
During this time you can ask what percentage your plan covers and whether or not you must meet a deductible.
Please note: the cost of herbal medicine and supplements are not eligible for reimbursement.
What is Alamere Acupuncture’s role in the process?
Our sole responsibility for supporting your reimbursement process is providing you with a Superbill. A Superbill is similar to an itemized receipt and contains all the necessary information about our practice and your visit for reimbursement purposes. The rest is up to you.
What is your responsibility in the process?
Submitting your claims, liaising with your insurance company and staying up-to-date about your plan and coverage is your responsibility as a patient. You are responsible for paying for 100% of all costs at the time of your appointment. We are not responsible for any changes or lapses in your coverage and subsequent reimbursement.

2. Some plans may reimburse up to 80% of the treatment cost
